In order to preserve privacy and confidentiality in accordance with federal and state laws, and to ensure that all record maintenance requirements are followed, IDP drivers are expressly prohibited from using audio or video, taking photographs, or using any other electronic means to record a Veyo passenger.
Veyo’s protocol on the utilization of video recorders, dash cams, cell video recorders, or other video or audio recording devices prohibits IDPs from using or turning into the "ON" or "RECORDING" position while transporting passengers for Veyo.
Under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), biometric identifiers including finger, retinal, and voiceprints; and full-face photographic images and any comparable images are considered Protected Health Information (PHI) identifiers that must be treated with special care.
Additionally, since PHI is individually identifiable information that is transmitted by electronic media; maintained in electronic media; or transmitted or maintained in any other form or medium (includes paper and oral communication), electronic recordings of Veyo passengers is considered PHI that is protected under HIPAA.
Veyo considers any breaches in the privacy and confidentiality of handling PHI as serious. Violations of this policy will result in termination of the IDP’s contract.
