How does Upside work?

Download the Upside app - Download the free Upside app here and create an account. Upside is available on Android and iOS.
Find a participating location - Open the app to view available offers at participating gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants near you. Offers are based on what appears in the app and may change over time.
Claim an offer - Select the offer you want to use and tap the option to claim it. Be sure to review the offer details and complete the purchase within the time and conditions displayed in the app.
Make your purchase - Visit the participating location and pay as usual with your credit or debit card. Follow the purchase-verification steps displayed in the app. Depending on the offer, verification may involve a linked card, Pay with Upside, or uploading a receipt.
Earn cash back - Once the eligible purchase is verified, the cash back will be added to your Upside account.
Cash out your earnings - When you are ready, you can cash out to a bank account or choose from available gift cards. There is no minimum withdrawal amount and no points to convert.

How much cash back can I earn?

The amount available depends on the participating location and the offer displayed in the Upside app.

Gas: Users earn an average of around 11 cents per gallon and may earn up to 25 cents per gallon at participating stations.
Groceries and dining: Users earn an average of around 8% cash back and may earn up to $10 per trip at participating locations.
Annual earnings: Frequent Upside users earn an average of about $252 per year.
